Period. So easy to organize

I like Alto, but it has some kinks that make it a bit annoying to use. Pro: It reminds me a lot of Google Inbox in the way it divides mail into groups, and in its overall UI. I like Inbox a lot, so this pleases me. But unlike Inbox, it supports multiple accounts It provides the swipe actions that are standard now, just about everywhere Unlike Outlook, it doesnt try to take the place of my calendar and contacts. I like those default apps just fine. The "Dashboard" and in-box cards remind me a lot of Google Now, but again with the advantage that they work across all emails. Cons: A little unstable. Alto will often show me that I have new message with a badge, but will not display them in the app, no matter how many times I refresh. Alto has to be quit and restarted to make the messages show up. The dashboard needs work. I dont need to see my online pizza order from last year as a card; its been delivered, or it hasnt, but either way its old news. Same goes for hotel reservations, flights, etc. Shouldnt be that hard to put a limiter on there by age. Right now I have dozens of cards that need dismissing.

Good: Looks and works a lot like Google Inbox, which I enjoy. Dashboard and in-line cards are a nice idea, sort of “Google Now”-ish. Supports multiple email accounts in a unified inbox Breaks email into categories, again, like Google Inbox (see a pattern here? This is the closest thing I’ve seen to an Inbox ripoff so far). Bad: Sometimes won’t update mail, even when I refresh multiple times. The app icon will show new messages, but I have to quit and restart Alto to get those messages to show up. Dashboard insists on showing me cards for 6, 12, 24 months ago, and longer. Thanks Dashboard, but if that pizza hasn’t been delivered yet, I don’t think it’s on the way. Was it that hard to write a filter to exclude old events by, say, date > 60 days past? Does not support reply or delete/archive from the notification, either on the lock screen or notification center. This is a big oversight, Mail does it. Outlook does it. Inbox does it, etc. etc. Oddly, supports 3D touch (or whatever we’re calling it on the phone). No iPad version. So I have to continue using Outlook on the iPad…which makes me say “Might as well just use it on the phone too”. Two stars, not worth using over an of the excellent email clients out there, or even the default mail.app. But PROMISING if they can polish it.

I was one of the very few back in 2010 to have gotten the opportunity to use Altos desktop version... It was awesome back then and the idea was revolutionary, in a sense that, it couldve changed the way email clients worked back then and it worked like a charm with gmail but the Alto team at AOL lost its way I believe and were now left with this app which Id say is too little too late to be a game changer. I have ideas that I believe can transform this app, Alto and the way we use emails forever but Im waiting for the right VC.

Firstly, this app is beautifully designed and works very fluidly. I would just suggest that you add an Apple Watch App. The biggest addition this needs is an actionable notification so that you can simply delete or archive an email straight from the lock screen or Notification Center.

You have to get this great free app. Makes managing mails I easy and awesome...

App works great. Especially with multiple email accounts. Needs to be cleaned up a bit as it occasionally crashes or doesnt display an email until its closed and opened again. Also is a bit slow which isnt a huge issue but I noticed when transitioning from gmail app and was using both that the gmail app would receive an email and it wouldnt arrive in alto until about 2-3 minutes later. But these are minor annoyances compared to a great email app!

I have been using ALTO for a few months and it is great, easy to use and set up...files and pictures easy to access....

This app is great for those with multiple email addresses from various providers. I have email addresses from Google and Apple and Alto syncs with them seamlessly.
